This Blog is intended primarily as a chronicle of a boat building project taking place during 2015-2016.  We are building a 63 ft twin hulled catamaran with a 29ft beam.  It will be, once completed, a United States Coast Guard certified conveyance for 100 passengers, and will be the largest sail powered charter vessel in the northeastern United States.   There are approximately 12 to 15 personnel on the boatwright crew.   With the exception of the vessel's skipper, none of us have ever built a boat before.   We all, however, have unique and varied skill sets, and we are all reasonably intelligent and skilled in the use of tools to some degree.

This boat is based upon a catamaran design which originates in the Tuamoto Archipelago;  The Tuamotus or the Tuamotu Archipelago are a chain of islands and atolls in French Polynesia. They form the largest chain of atolls in the world, spanning an area of the Pacific Ocean roughly the size of Western Europe.

We have set a goal to have the boat launched in time for the 2016 sailing season.

It has begun!
